while i'm on the topic of tofu...

There are no words to describe our excitement at Mitusuwa in Edgewater, NJ as we gazed into the sizable refrigerated case of artisanal tofu imported from Japan's ancient capital, Kyoto. Kyoto! I still cannot believe the deliciousness of each variety. And the texture! You have never tasted anything like it. Needless to say, we came home with armfuls. And we have so many varieties yet to try.

Did you know that Mitsuwa has great places to eat lunch? Sanuki Sando Udon has great udon (fat chewy noodles), like I had in Japan, and cannot really get in many restaurants. It is authentic. A bowl of kitsune udon is under $5. I had the sansai udon (delicious mountain vegetables) this time around.

Did you know you can get a $2 shuttle from Port Authority direct to Mitsuwa? It is fast and convenient.
