A blog about all things fashion designer, including seeking art in daily life, appreciating great design, and discovering the pleasing nuances in the urban landscape. I also blog about architecture, interior design, contemporary art, accessories for the home, shopping in NYC, tips for looking good in layers, bargain finds, and my own private musings on the stop-start nature of the creative process.

you say taralli, i say taralles
Who else grew up eating taralles? Those addictive dough rings, speckled with fennel seeds or hot pepper flakes that in New Jersey are boiled first, then baked (like bagels!), or in New York, just baked. Sure, the proper Italian plural would be taralli, but these are Italian-American, so it's okay to add an s on the end.
Rose & Joe's in Astoria makes some of my favorites in New York, and for a nice price too. $4.75 per pound. You can mix the fennel [R] and the hot pepper flake[L] too.
