strike one!

Today, it is good to be self-employed. Day One of the NYC transit strike did not affect my workday or my holiday shipping schedule. In fact, it enhanced it. I managed to get major orders shipped, go to the gym, meet friends for coffee, and for the first time in 2 months, have the afternoon off! As long as my thread and fabric supply hold out, I should be ok for a little while. After a few days of this though, I am sure I am going to make a break for one of the bridges. I need to go look at new fabric! I am on the brink of many new ideas. And also, what about finishing up holiday shopping? I might be Brooklyn-bound. In which case, it will be babka for all! That's not so bad, is it?
