Which brings me to ask you something I've been curious about, do you sew all your garments yourself? Or do you outsource some of the work the work and do the finishing?
Dear Anonymous,
Sheesh it sounds so ominous, doesn't it? Yes I do know how to sew, and love it. I fascinated with all sculptural and geometry-based puzzles associated with garment construction. As such I am in charge of all the designing, patternwork and sample-making. And have help on the sewing front too. Next time reveal yourself, we want to meet you.
Don't you hate when you have a typo in your comment? I do.
correction: I am fascinated with all sculptural and geometry-based puzzles associated with garment construction.
just another note from elaine...
Actually I did try to meet you while you were still living in Boston, but we couldn't get it together. You may remember that I too took a class with Joel Upton. I really enjoy the blog btw.
So nice of you to write again! I must admit, the anonymous weirds me out... Glad to put a face with the writing. Joel Upton! One of my absolute favorite professors. I still think about all of his concepts to this day. We must chat more, apart from this blog.
