particular loves
bamboo, coral, moss, woodgrain, silhouettes & other cut-outs, plastic, low-resolution images, the photo copier, off-registration prints, Max Ernst's Lunar Asparagus, NYC fire call boxes that look like Kannon, Fauvist color sense, the Noguchi Museum, pretty much all of Abstract Expressionism

current shoe obsession
alas, the sneaker. (because I live in nyc and walk a ton!) but not too sneakery of a sneaker. more of a sneaker disguised as a shoe, like a mary jane style or a high-tech looking black one with a metallic accent. how about Royal Elastics? I must go try some on. I really like the non-sneakeryness of their styles.

sweater #43 goes up on the auction block

Ideally, I'd like to encyclopedically wear everything in my closet. Like from Left to Right, A to Z. I know a woman who works at Seventeen who does just that. She wears a dress a day, L to R, then moves a new batch to the front. That seems like heaven to me, to get that much use out of what you already own.

I've been inventorying each category of clothing I own over the past year, writing down every piece I have, so I can either wear it, or put it on the chopping block (Ebay). Today I inventoried my sweaters. I have 42. Is that a lot? It sounds like a lot. Approximately how many sweaters do you own? For the record, I am keeping all 42. I have one for sale on Ebay. But this one is #43.

summer slingbacks by charlotte

I really debated about putting these on the chopping block; i.e., Ebay. I debated for like two months. Well they're available now. http://bit.ly/Wiw4Si I'm pleased with the photos; but I still might take them back. Ivory faceted studs in brass settings. So lovely and unusual. And I have a belt to match...
